We celebrated a birthday!

We took a math test on Unit 8.  We practiced more addition with regrouping.

The Huddle went to choir and P.E.

We are working on a song for chapel with sign language.

In Little House, we finished up chapters 17 and 18.

The Huddle is decorating the program cover for the spring musical.

Welcome to May!

Happy Principal’s Day, Mr. Brown!  The school recognized Mr. Brown for his service and dedication to Trinity at the end of chapel today.  Kindergarten shared the ABCs of the Bible today.

We are celebrated a summer birthday.

In Little House, we completed chapters 15, 16, and 17.  Ask your child how the Ingalls family got sick?

In Math, we have been practicing extra hard on regrouping and becoming confident in our facts.  We wrapped up our chapter practice and take our test tomorrow on Unit 8!

The Huddle had computer class and focused on Line Rider.   Miss Adams worked on Michigan History with us too.

Remember Where Do Babies Come From? books should be returned by Friday.

The LAST day of April

Mid-term grades for the final trimester were emailed home today.

The Huddle went to Music, Spanish, and P.E..

It is the week of the summer and regular birthdays.  Today we celebrated two friends!

The Huddle took an A.R. test on Buffalo Before Breakfast.

In Little House on the Prairie, we worked on the Native American Camp.  Ask your child what Laura and Mary collected from the camp.  Chapter 15 was Fever ‘N” Ague.  Who got sick?  Why?

In Math, we reviewed regrouping with addition and focused on X7 facts for multiplication.

Monday, April 29

The Huddle started our week with Weekend Writing and prayer requests

We listened to ‘Always.” It is our new song of the week.

In Little House, we learned about Pa building a well and the Texas Longhorns.  Ask your child why they used a candle in the well.

In Math, we worked on more chapter practice for regrouping for addition and subtraction.  We practiced recopying the problem on scrap paper like we do for the NWEA test coming up.

Our fluency assignment for the week is on Laura Ingalls Wilder and is due on Friday. Where Babies Come From is due on Friday, too.

Huff’s Huddle Newsletter – April 29 to May 3, 2024

Huddle Families,

Here’s your link to this week’s newsletter.

Thanks again for all that helped make our field trip to Historic Trinity Lutheran Church this past week so great. Be sure to check at the end of this email for lots of upcoming dates for your calendar as we head into May this week.

Mid-Term reports are being emailed home on Tuesday!  The Huddle has put lots of hard work into recent weeks in third grade. Thanks for emptying out Monday folders each week. If your child has lost their Monday folder, their graded work from each week is placed in the green take home folder.

Last week, your child brought home a copy of Where Do Babies Come From? book.  This book has not been shared with your child yet.  In front of each book is a letter from Mr. Brown explaining our goal to assist families in grade level appropriate discussions from a Christian perspective. (I am sending a copy of Mr. Brown’s letter home in this week’s Monday folder as well.)  Please read the book over with your child and discuss it as a family between now and when the books are returned on Friday, May 3.  Each book also has an index card enclosed if your child has any questions for me to cover in class.  Mr. Brown will lead a discussion with third and fourth grade boys after May 12th.  Miss Adams and I will lead a discussion with third and fourth grade girls.

Thursday, April 25

The Huddle went to Choir and P.E. today.

We filled out a birthday board for a classmate that we will celebrate tomorrow.  We weren’t sure if a half day gave us enough time to celebrate.

We looked up Psalm 19:14 in our Bibles.

The class worked on spelling words and many took their weekly spelling test on vocabulary a-z.

In Math, we focused on regrouping with addition and the last X6 multiplication brochure was handed out.  SO proud of our work on our facts.

In Little House, we read Roof and A Floor and Native Americans in the House.

We studied for spelling, memory, and our state quiz.

Fluency on Earth Day is due tomorrow.

Remember tomorrow is a half day and dismissal is at 11:30.

Field Trip to Historic Trinity Lutheran Church

The Huddle had such an amazing field trip!  Thanks to all that drove and chaperoned today.  Historic Trinity was absolutely wonderful.  I was super proud of our class too.  They displayed good choices and maturity while at the church.

Here is a link to an unlisted YouTube video of the choir singing today.  The video is recorded from the balcony area.  Thanks to Mrs. Stecker for all of her hard work so we could have such an amazing trip and sharing this video with us.

I am so thankful for this day with the Huddle!

Tuesday, April 23

Today, the Huddle had Music, Spanish, and P.E.

We finished two chapters in Little House.  Ask your child about the two stout doors and the wolf pack.

I am so proud of the progress the Huddle is making with their math brochures, and Xtra Math.

Lots of third graders are working on memorizing where the states are located as well on the U.S.A. map.  I love seeing all the learning that is taking place each day.

In Math today, we focused on problem solving with addition and subtraction.

Check out the posters we made for Earth Day!

Our field trip to Historic Trinity Lutheran is tomorrow!  Look for details and driving assignments coming to you in an email today after school.
